hello everyone... haha... sorry this post very late... cause just came back after visiting... i have i think 2 to 3 things to say...
1)this is to ALL sec2, like wad wanling said go to the band room after school and arrange the room... you need not arrange the room because we have already done it...and DO NOT LET THE SEC1 TOUCH ANYTHING IN THE ROOM... so once they get into the room ask them to get a chair and then SIT DOWN! and just talk to them... and ask them questions like wad section you want to join and why join band ,ETC... in charge of the sec1s from after school till fanjun and geknee arrive would be leyuan and xiaojun... erm... if possible i would TRY to make my way at that time to take out some of the instrument to let them see... still thinking... so ya... xiao jun and leyuan please talk to them nicely... any problem find me at 4D...
2)PLEASE practice 'March Together' for our marching video... like wad Mr ong said... he only want to take 1hour doing that video... and don't forget, the sec1 have not learn how to do drills yet... so ya... don't make a mess out of it...
3)this is just a reminder to all of you... SYF is very near... so please work hard... we are already 2STEPS nearer to SYF... 1st Step is our choice and set pieces, we are okay... as in erm... good la but there are more room for improvements... and 2nd Step is we have enough members:D well hopefully the sec1s are talented... haha... well so put in your effort and jiayou... just 2 MORE MONTHS to SFY people... we can do it! go peicai band!:D

I know it sounds very cliche but, haha. :D
Enjoy your holidays and remember to do your holiday homework, not just collecting "angbaos" and eating all the new year goodies!

Do keep in touch with your instruments (if you borrowed them back) and read/memorise your parts for Overture no. 1 and Piasa alrights? (:

Remember to come on Wednesday for the mini orientation at the band room. Lower sec go straight to band room after school and arrange everything according to whatever Fanjun and Geknee has planned.

Upper sec, go straight to band room after 1.30pm. Please don't tell me you're eating lunch or whatever, you will get to eat after the mini orientation which will only last for an hour, the most.

hello hello band members:Dtoday Mr fahmy told some of us about how many sec1 had wrote Band as their FIRST choice... and therefore we have 13new sec1s that had put Band as first choice... but don't worry as some of them who put second ochoice would be in band but they would be having 2 CCA... thats was wad i heard not sure... yup... anyway i would like to welcome one of the new sec1 that stayed on for practice on thursday(yesterday) she is none other than Sandy from secondary 1B... she would be playing the French horn... so please give her your encouragements...

this part of the post is for all seniors(current sec2,3 and4s)... Mr ong has given Wanling a new score... name of the song is Grand march... ya... and she has given them to one of your section member... because Mr ong only has the conductor score... so that person would make it into a nice piece of paper for you... most likely you guy would get it on wednesday or thursday... it is a difficult song... but i believe we can do it:D haha... so have fun... i found the song on youtube... please listen and get ready to play that song:D

If you are going for a camp, holiday, ect, please fill in the leave form (can get it from Joanne), and pass it to Joanne. You are excused from practices if your leave form is approved.

These are all the rules for band... and regrading band members touching other section instruments, only committee members are allowed to play other instruments and only BM,DM,QM and SLs are able to hold your instrument for you. Thats all... and I will write out the rules and paste it somewhere in the band room... The rules will officially work when the NEW sec 1s come for their first band practice... thats all:D

hello... haha... ok... last practice we tried to play dancing in the wind... not bad cause first time wad do you expect...but it was NOT bad... but can improve! jiayou! anyway... i am here to say that this friday(first day of school) there will be NO band... i repeat NO band! haha... but band would start next week... shall blog again ONCE i know the days for practice:D

another thing... i am also here to talk you all some things... our CCA orientation would be on the 9th of jan 2009... (next friday)... the band room would be open RIGHT after school... so please have a FAST lunch and head to the band room! would have attire check and would have to carry lots and lots of instruments...
just something to tell you guys...currently we have 19COMFIRM playing for the orientation... hopefully more will come...and this 19 people would be spilt into TWO group... Group ONE would stay in the classroom and let the NEW sec1s try the instruments... IN-CHARGE of Group ONE would be WANLING! and for Group TWO! we would be moving around asking them to join band... but don't worry... if you are tired you can change with your section people... IN-CHARGE of Group TWO would me ME!(MARK)... groups would be out SOON! VERY SOON!

yo band members!well... tomorrow is a very IMPORTANT day for us... cause the uniform people are coming to take our sizes for the new band uniform!!! ya... and don't forget to take down your, BLAZER size, YELLOW ROUND NECK size, WHITE SKIRT/PANTS size. ok...

blazer size can be found at where ALL kind of shirt have their sizes... at the neck there... ok... good... then for the skirt and the pant i THINK it is at the same place... for the pants it will be at where the buckle is... but the right hook... whereby you hook the buckle in... but for the skirt i am sorry but i am not so sure... and for the yellow tee, for the sec ones you are having the old yellow tee so use the size for the black band tee... it is the same... you don't need to check your shoes size because we will be using back the white shoes... thats wad teachers say...

so ya... don't forget all the information... this is just a reminder only... so anyone who see this pass the message around it MIGHT be faster... and tomorrow band room will be open at 830am... so if you want to come earlier you might come at 830... if not 11am... don't be late... and like wad wanling said there will not be lunch break...

this goes to all my DEAR percussionists... miss loh would not be buying the hair wig for us because, it is very expensive... one wig cost $60... so... we have two options... 1) don't wear... 2) make the wig our self... ya... i will talk to you all tomorrow... haha... tomorrow is our last practice... have fun everyone:D

Hope you guys enjoyed the band camp! :D Coz I know I did! :D
I really enjoyed the ensembles we did in our groups.
And the fun and laughter everyone had while rehersing yeah?
BBQ ROCKED! Despite the rain and all, it turned out awesome. =]
Hope you all enjoyed your roasted(chao tah) marshmellows and the endless supply of chicken wings and satay! Hahaha!

this is mark.. i am here to tell you about this concert the regent, shuqun and hougang sec.... it would be on the 20th of November 2008... ya... it would be held at the Victoria Concert Hall... timing not confirmed but most likely would be at night... and it would be a combined concert... first half of the concert would be shuqun and hougang sec... then other half would be for regent and a combined school band... the combined school band would come from the 3 schools and only selected members from each school will get to play... most likely more sec1... so this concert would be advised for all sec1 to go... it would cost $10... please do support the schools as each school will have to sell about 210 tickets each... so we would be helping regent sec... hopefully all of you can go... i would need you name and money by 20th of oct 2008... as the next week i won't be going for band... NCO camp... thanks... please spread the message around... and if your classmates would like to go... do tell me... thanks...

This’s a story about four people: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Come for band practices.

Moral of the story:
If you rely on someone else to inform your friends to come for practices, it won't work as they might not do it. Many of them skip practices without vaild reasons just because they don't feel like it. So please, ask your friends to come for practices because without them, we will not sound as nice as we can actually be. :]

Anyway, last nights performance was great and you guys did very well compared to our rehersals! *applause* I hope you all had fun bonding with each other, screaming and laughing but don't play too much already alrights? Time to move on and play harder pieces and not those 2 songs anymore. =]

I want to thank on behalf of everyone, Ms Loh, who didn't give up on us when we played really badly; Mr Lim, who told us how to balance our sound and taught us how to make our sound sound better; and Mr Ong and the other tutors who helped tutor us before the concert :D

Hmmm.. band resumes on Thursday so please come for practices! There's band practice on Friday as well, and Ms Loh said she has a surprise for us right? So if you don't come, you don't get it. So must come okay. :D Haha.

Our concert's in TWENTY THREE HOURS time and I'm guessing all of you are SUUUPER tired now after today's rehersal rite? Haha. Well, I just want to thank you all for being so cooperative this afternoon becoz we warmed up and brouhgt our instruments down on time without much hassle. :]

Another thing is that you guys played better than the previous rehersal last Friday although we had some uhhh (mistakes) but it's ok, don't give up alrights?! ^^" Tmr's our last chance!

Hello peeps.

I'm pretty sure all of you are very tired by now and may not read this until like 2 days later or something but I'm still gonna say it.

Although today we sounded disappointing, seniors juniors alike made mistakes (glad you knew where you went wrong. If you didn't then...), you all can't give up okay? Everybody makes mistakes. Everybody has those days. When life gets tough, the tough gets going. Life ain't easy.

Don't expect to sound nice without practice and enforcing what Ms Loh, Mr Lim or the tutors said to us. The most fustrating thing is when they tell us something to improve our sound and we don't do it or most likely, forgotten all about it. This is what puts them off and they get really angry.

Now, remember what I said? NEVER give up alright? Giver Uppers (no such word :P) are LOSERS. You heard me? It's okay to feel pressured and stressed because you can;t play or just can't seem to get the rhythm and stuff. What I suggest is to get your section mates and go for sectionals together. This way, you can ask them for help and you guys can have fun practicing too right? :]

If you guys have anything to "complain" (hopefully not!) or just need someone to talk to, feel free to approach Mark or myself okay? By complain I meant if you have things you feel really unpleased with or you don't like a certain someone.

All in all, I hope you guys will really pull up your socks and practice much much harder for those two songs which are not SUPER DUPERLY difficult compared to the pieces other bands play. There is no band practice tomorrow. From tomorrow onwards, there will NOT be a Saturday practice. The school's idea. The next practice is next Monday, at 1.30pm. Sec 1 to 3s are to come.

Take care of yourselves and please please do not fall sick before next Saturday alrights? Refrain from fried food and junk food. It will help you lose those extra unwanted kgs! Haha :]

Yup, so I got news that we do NOT have to wear our HEAD GEAR! *cheers!*
BUT. Girls still have to bun up their hair. Haha. *guys rejoice*

Those that have not given us the money to buy your files, too bad, you have to buy it on your own. UNLESS someone nice is willing to buy it for you. We'll see how.

Oh yes, TICKETS for IGNITE for $10 each. There won't be any free tickets for performers this year so those that want your family and friends to come and watch you, please order it from your teacher okay?

Anyway, school has since started and I just want you all to concentrate on your schoolwork but not neglect band practices as well okay? :]

well... hi band members!!! today was indeed a hard day... i wanna say some good things first... firstly... the movement today was indeed the best this year and i really would like to thank everyone for that... and everyone whom did their best! i was very touched as it was like you all listen to wad i said... and follow... i have happy...
now about the performance... although we did not perform well... but i would like to say... i was very happy as you guys improve A LOT!!! and i would want to say, although we did not do our best... but i know in everyone of you... there is a flower... waiting to bloom... but it is just the matter of time... you want it to bloom beautifully, you would have to water the seed, give it soil, the sunlight and the space... everything that is needed for a seed to grow is all there but the matter of whether you want to water... give it ALL you got... this may be the last performance for some of us... don't smash it for us... i know that we are able to give do it! all you need is effort! i believe in EVERYONE of you in the band that we are able to show the public or first to show it to the school we members of peicai military band are able to give it EVERYTHING we have in us...
and by doing that... you yourself will be 100% happy for wad you did to get to the place we want to be in! believing in yourself is the first thing you must do... then practice and practice! well long post... going to stop here... bye!

Hello! :]
This week will be the last week of band practice before we stop for the Mid-Year-Exams. There will be practice this Thursday for the sec 2s and 3s. Saturday's practice as usual, seniors are to wear band collar tee while recruits wear their PE attire (pe shirt + school shorts).

NOTE: Band tee designs are to be handed in to Mark BY SATURDAY! If you do not submit any, it is to your own loss as you are going to wear someone else's design and if you do not like it, that's too bad. So submit your designs ASAP!

Recruits are to get their cloth for their instruments BY Saturday as well. Section leaders please check that everyone has got a cloth and report to me those who do not have.

Just a gentle reminder for sec 2 & 3s about the test next Thursday, 10th April.
Remember to memorise the 7 major scales, namely; Bb, Eb, F, Ab, C, D, G major.
Also, etudes 1 to 5 from Tone and Technique, though you need not memorise them.
Practice your intervals and the sight reading piece would be one of the chorales from T&T.

Just to add on, Band Tee desgins are to be submitted to Mark or any of the sec 3s by 12th April, which is next Saturday.
Report slips are to be photocopied and passed to me asap.
Egg cartons can be given to me anytime during April. Please do your part and contribute. =]

Hello Guys !

I know the seniors and juniors have been upset by the incident that happened on the tagboard.
But , no worries ! Peicai Band doesnt have the time to entertain nonsensical people.
Just waste of time , and we are just killing our own braincells.
Well , we are smart people compared to people who insult us in sub standard english.
Its useless to fight with them, cause they might even dont understand us !

But its quite heartwarming to see band members unite together ,
so guest , your aim is not acheived.
We have become more united , even if you come back with more insults ,
we will be able to take it .
Cause All for One , One for all .
Get it ? i bet you dont . cause you are just another nonsensical person (:
Maybe , you are not even just a nonsensical person but a person without brains.
Mentally disabled , Oh so sad , do you need our help ?
we can send you to some kind of organization that might aid you in learning.
you might be able to work more normally !
and even play an instrument PROPERLY !
I know that i've got great ideas for you , thanking me ? Oh welcome then !
But i still think that you are wasting the world's resources ,
Oh man ! earth is in crisis and you are still wasting its resources .
Didnt you remember that the wrold had a 24 hour live concert asking us to save the earth.
and now you are doing this , Ohmymymymygawd.
you seriously need some thinking skills too ?
Guys , do the organization provides guest with such skills ?
or guest will suffer when he or she gets out in future .
But , fret not ! i think he or she cant even get out.
Brain damaged for too long , thus needs to be supervised.
BUTBUTBUT, in this way ,you are wasting people's time,
Its actually okay for people that are mentally disabled you see.

Band as usual on saturday ( 13/7/2007 )
Timing and venue remains the same, except for rainy days.

Sectionals will not resume as stated in the previous post.
Further notice will be given, and please turn up for it.

Concert on the 18/7/2007 by school bands is cancelled.
Because tickets were all sold out.
So please do not go to Singapore Conference Hall ( SCH ) on that day (:

People going to Yuhua's concert , please meet at Ang Mo Kio MRT station at 3.30pm (:

Sectionals will resume 2 weeks later , please turn up.
Please remember that sectional books can only be signed by Mrs Xavier , Ms Ng , Band Major or Drum Major.
If none of the above is present , look for your section leaders.
